MS Deutschland towed to Bergen

MV Deutschland in Eidfjord, Norway when fire started on May 23, in the Cruise ship with 607 passengers and crew members.

The fire was located in the engine room which started at 12:30 pm.

Firemen, Ambulance, Policemen and Helicopters arrived to stop the fire and help the passengers inside the cruise ship.

The firemen were able to stop the fire after 5 hours.

Here are the passengers. Two of them are Dietrich Brindöpke in MV Deutschland on Norway tour with his wife. They have been in the beautiful Geiranger, Flåm, and Eidfjord. And the next port would be home in Hamburg, he said.

MV Deutschland which was damaged by fire in the engine room on Sunday, 23rd May at 12:31 pm, was towed to Bergen on Monday. The 607 passengers and crew members were sent by plane to Germany on Monday, 24th May. This 175 meter long ship is towed from Eidfjord by the help of 2 boats, and is expected to take around 20 hours to Bergen, western part of Norway.

The Norwegian Policemen are going to conduct technical inspections and try to find out why the fire occurred.
