The youngest sailor Jessica Watson

Thousands of people had gathered in Sydney to celebrate a record voyage to 16-year-old Jessica Watson. On May 15, 2010 after 210 days at sea, 16-year-old sailed into the port area outside Sydney. She was greeted by hundreds of small boats and a jubilant crowd. As she crossed the finish line was Jessica Watson the youngest ever to have completed a worldwide sailing on her own without stop and without help. Interest in the country has been enormous and the race were shown on Australian television. She smiled and waved to the audience from the deck of 34 feet tall ship. She arrived on land after 7 months right to the famous Opera House in Sydney, where she was met by Australia´s Prime Minister Kevin Ruud. He called her "Australia´s newest hero". -You made the nation proud. You are a hero for young Australians and Australian women, said Kevin Ruud.

Seeing the family was strong for 16-year-old, who wept and smiled to each other. The team around the Australian girl says, she sailed almost a total of 23,000 nautical miles. She wrote blog frequently on her journey, and is scheduled to come out with a book soon.

I am completely everwhelmed. I´m just an ordinary girl who had a dream, said Jessica.
